DENVER – For the second time in as many nights, Colorado produced an exciting night of combat. Following up Friday night’s all-MMA Kick Down card, the Rocky Mountain Bad Boyz promotion on Saturday night presented their first Battle of the Arts event mixing bouts of Muay Thai, Boxing and MMA on the same fight card.

Gumm MMA, headed up by UFC veteran Brad Gumm, completed a 4 for 4 sweep this weekend with two wins on Friday night and two on Saturday, including the Battle of the Arts “Fight of the Night” between Alicia Gumm and Fighter Girls star Michelle Watterson. Watterson recently made the move to train at Greg Jackson’s gym in New Mexico.

These two women had the crowd screeching from the start as Watterson dominated the stand-up portion of the fight with her superior Muay Thai skills, but it was Gumm that marshaled the majority of fight with her takedowns, submission attempts and some brutal ground and pound to close out the fight. Dropping some vicious elbows, Gumm scored the unanimous decision, 20-18 on all three scorecards, before a ravenous crowd.

With no other decisions on the MMA portion of the fight card, the main event featured a WBC sanctioned boxing match. Manny Perez, under the tutelage of Trevor Whitman of T’s KO, outboxed Lenny DeVictoria in every aspect. The owner of a granite chin, DeVictoria managed to fight it out for the duration, but it was Perez that easily scored a unanimous decision over 12 rounds, taking home the WBC Continental Americas Super Featherweight Championship.
