With Forrest Griffin Out, Phil Davis Will Not Fight at UFC 155 and Move to Future Card

December 7, 2012

The exit of Forrest Griffin from the UFC 155 fight card will now also serve as a goodbye to his opponent Phil Davis as well.

Davis actually stepped in to replace Chael Sonnen after he was pulled to coach the new season of the Ultimate Fighter versus light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Now it appears with Griffin injured, Davis will have to wait until a later date to fight because he’s not going to get a replacement opponent for UFC 155.

“We’re going to move him to another card,” UFC President Dana White confirmed about Davis on Thursday.

Davis most recently competed at UFC 153 where he submitted Brazilian Wagner Prado.

Now the former NCAA champion will await a call from the UFC for his next bout, which will take place sometime in early 2013.
