Kit Cope Signs Three-Fight Deal with WFA

By Damon Martin, MMAWeekly

While still rehabbing his injured shoulder, Kit Cope continues to make waves, recently signing a three-fight deal to fight in the newly revamped WFA organization. Cope was last seen taking on Kenny Florian at Ultimate Fight Night some months ago, and while locking up with his opponent, he suffered a freak injury that severely hurt his shoulder and put him on the sidelines.

Cope has been teaching seminars all over the country while rehabbing his shoulder, and he stays in close contact with Tito Ortiz and Team Punishment in preperation for a return to full-time training once his shoulder is back to 100 percent. Cope told MMAWeekly that he is still about 2-3 months away from being able to train at full strength again, but looks forward to the opportunity that is waiting for him in the WFA.

The WFA has not officially announced its first event, but according to Cope it will likely be held in July and there are more major signings on the way.
