On the eve of the UFC 192 pay-per-view, the fight card has lost its co-main event.
“Due to issues experienced during his weight cut, welterweight contender Johny Hendricks has been pulled from his UFC 192 bout against Tyron Woodley on Saturday, October 3,” read a statement by the UFC on Friday.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto later reported via Twitter that Hendricks’ manager told him the fighter had “a blockage a blockage in intestine and kidney stone,” and had to be rushed to the emergency room Thursday night.
The fight card will now feature 12 bouts instead of the planned 13.
“The UFC 192 card at Houston’s Toyota Center, which is headlined by the UFC light heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson, will proceed as scheduled with 12 bouts. The flyweight match-up pitting Joseph Benavidez against Ali Bagautinov will move to the Pay-Per-View main card,” the fight promotion announced.
