All fighters made weight for WEC 44: Brown vs. Aldo at The Palms Casino Hotel in Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon.

WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown attempts to continue his reign atop the 145-pound division on Wednesday night when he defends against explosive number one contender Jose Aldo.

Brown stepped on the scale weighing 145 pounds, as did Aldo.

There hasn’t been a lot of trash talk leading up to the fight, something Aldo is used to. “Usually, I don’t talk too much, (I) just get in the ring and fight, regardless. Title fight or not, I always come to fight and do my best.”

And when it comes fight time on Wednesday night, the two have similar approaches.

“The key is pretty much just use everything we did at the school, which is train everywhere, so we’re ready,” said Aldo of his game plan.

Brown revealed a bit more detail, but in essence takes the same tact, “I do what I do, just try to put my game on him, swing hard, try to get on top, smash him up. That’s the game, that’s what I do. Try to find the holes, if he’s got any.

“But he’s hard to scout. He’s been beating guys quick… there’s only one way to find out what’s going to happen, and that’s go in and fight tomorrow.”

Leonard Garcia and Manny Gamburyan are featured in another featherweight bout on Wednesday night, the winner of which could be launching himself into title contention in 2010.
