WEC 30: McCullough vs. Crunkilton Card Set

MMAWeekly has learned the full card for WEC 30, which is set to happen on September 5th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

In the main event, WEC Lightweight Champion “Razor” Rob McCullough will defend his title for the first time against Rich Crunkilton. The pair was set to meet at WEC 27 but injuries eventually scrapped both fighters off the card. McCullough became the WEC Lightweight Champion at WEC 25, stopping Kit Cope in the first round. At the same event, Crunkilton submitted Mike Joy to become the number one contender.

In the co-main event, WEC Bantamweight Champion Chase Beebe defends against ADCC Champion Rani Yahya. Beebe was originally set to defend against Manny Tapia but an injury forced him off the card and Yahya stepped in as a replacement. Beebe became the WEC Bantamweight Champion at WEC 26, winning a decision over Eddie Wineland. Yahya submitted UFC veteran Mark Hominick at WEC 28, now he moves down to bantamweight to face Beebe.

In a highly anticipated bantamweight bout, Miguel Torres will make his much awaited WEC debut against the undefeated Jeff Bedard. Torres originally signed with BoDog but now he is set to make his WEC debut. The winner of this fight will instantly put himself in line for a shot at the WEC Bantamweight Championship.

US Marine Brain Stann takes on WEC newcomer Jeremiah Billington. Stann comes off a stoppage victory over Craig Zellner at WEC 28. Billington comes off a submission victory over Wayne Porter at Revolution Cage Fighting 7.

UFC veteran John Alessio takes on Brazilian Marcelo Brito. Alessio recently submitted Alex Serdyukov at WEC 28. Brito comes off a close split decision victory over Omar de la Cruz at MMAC: The Revolution. A win here could very earn Alessio a rematch against Carlos Condit for the WEC Welterweight Championship.
