Watch former World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes lay Aljamain Sterling out cold with a brutal knee to the face in this UFC Knockout of the Week.
Moraes (20-5-1) had won 13 bouts in a row when he made his Octagon debut at UFC 212 in June of 2017. It was a close fight, but unfortunately for Moraes, Raphael Assuncao took home a split decision that night.
Moraes bounced back with a split-decision victory over John Dodson in his next UFC bout before this knockout performance. Moraes blasted Sterling with a knee upside the head, finally punctuating his arrival as one of the top bantamweights on the roster.
Moraes returns to the cage for a special Friday event at UFC Fight Night 131: Rivera vs. Moraes in Utica, N.Y. later this week. He headlines the show opposite fellow bantamweight contender Jimmie Rivera, with the winner hoping to make his case for a shot at the winner of the upcoming rematch between champion TJ Dillashaw and challenger Cody Garbrandt at UFC 227.
