Before a crowd of 5,528 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., former Ultimate Fighter Season 8 cast member Antwain Britt made his successful return to action as he stopped Terry Cohens in just 31 seconds of the opening round of their Ultimate Warrior Challenge main event.

Britt made his exodus from the UFC reality series after breaking his hand in his initial fight on the show.

Mike Easton eked out a split decision victory over Greg Jackson-trained John Dodson in a highly anticipated bantamweight showdown, winning 29-28 on two scorecards with the third card a draw at 29-29.

The success of Britt and Easton likely went a long way towards achieving the goal of UWC founder Marcello Foran in providing an avenue for Washington D.C. area fighters to prove their mettle.

“We’re going back to our mission, which is to be about building MMA in the D.C. area,” Foran said in an interview with MMAWeekly.com. “It’s about educating and being a productive part and positive part to this sport. We can bring in all kinds of level fighters from all over the place, but we’re trying to make D.C. recognized as a place where top fighters like Mike Easton and Antwain Britt and many, many others may not get a chance because without multiple pro shows in one large area like this, it’s hard for them to get exposed.”
