The UFC awarded four post-fight bonuses following Saturday’s UFC Vegas 41 fight card at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White announced the recipients of the $50,000 performance-based bonuses during the event’s post-fight press conference.
Fight of the Night honors went to middleweights Gregory Rodrigues and Jun Yong Park. The two had a back-and-fourth battle going until Rodrigues connected with a right hand midway through the second frame that hurt Park. Sensing a finish, Rodrigues kept the pressure on and staggered Park. After a few more punches landed, referee Keith Peterson stepped in and stopped the action.
Main event winner Marvin Vettori took home a bonus for his unanimous decision win over Paulo Costa. The two middleweight contenders fought at light heavyweight after Costa showed up considerably heavy for fight week. Vettori absorbed some big shots on his way to victory, but out worked Costa throughout the fight.
The final bonus was awarded to featherweight Alex Caceres for his come from behind submission win over Seung Woo Choi. Choi was having a lot of success early in the fight, Caceres was able to take his back and sink in a rear-naked choke in the second round. The win was Caceres’ fifth in a row.
