UFC Returns to Connecticut with September Fight Night Card

UFC-Fight-Night-LogoThe UFC will come to the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut on Friday, Sept. 5, for a UFC Fight Night event, officials announced on Saturday.

A headlining bout was not announced for the card, which will broadcast on FOX Sports 1. Match-ups are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The promotion’s last venture to Connecticut took place in 2005 with UFC 55, a card that saw then-heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski knock out Paul Buentello to defend his crown.

The Fight Night card at the Foxwoods is the second September UFC card announced in as many days, as UFC Fight Night Tokyo was announced on Friday for Sept. 21. Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson will headline the Japanese event.

Tickets for the Connecticut UFC card go on sale to the public on Friday, July 11.
