UFC on Versus 3 is now official for March 3 with Diego Sanchez facing Martin Kampmann in the main event as announced on Versus during Thursday night’s WEC 53 show.

MMAWeekly.com first reported the potential show recently, and all signs pointed towards a new UFC on Versus show, and now it’s been confirmed.

While there is still no location or venue on record for the event, the two fights that have been rumored are now at the top of the card with Sanchez vs. Kampmann leading the way, and a middleweight bout between Mark Munoz and C.B. Dollaway also taking a major spot on the show.

Sanchez comes into the fight after an exciting win over Paulo Thiago in his last trip to the Octagon. This will be the former “Ultimate Fighter” winner’s third fight in a row at welterweight after a stint at lightweight that included a title shot in 2009.

Looking to bounce back from a loss in his last fight against Jake Shields, Martin Kampmann will try to take out his frustrations on Sanchez. The Xtreme Couture fighter came up just short against Shields, missing out on a potential title shot in the process, but Kampmann has always been resilient and he’ll try to show that again in March.

The other fight announced will pit NCAA champion wrestler Mark Munoz in his second straight bout against an Arizona State All-American when he faces C.B. Dollaway in a middleweight bout on the card.

More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks including a location for the March 3 event going down on Versus.
