Round 1: They touch gloves. Gashimov takes the center of the cage. Lineker lands a right hand. They exchange and Lineker lands a right hand that puts Gashimov on his back. Gashimov powers back to his feet. They work for position along the cage before separating. Gashimov changes levels and dives for a takedown. Lineker stuffs it and gains top position. Lineker lands but Gashimov stands. Lineker delivers a knee to the body. Gashimov circles away. Gashimov lands a hard outside leg kick. Lineker moves forward. He leaps in with a left hand that lands. Lineker pursues him. Gashimov grabs the fense to prevent a takedown. He is warned. He does it again and the referee takes a point away. Lineker lands a right hand that knocks Gashimov down. Gashimov delivers an elbow from the bottom and scrambles to his feet. The round ends. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-7 for Lineker with the point deduction. It would have been 10-8 had a point not been taken away.
Round 2: Lineker goes to the body with a right hand. He continues to move forward. Gashimov misses with kicks. Lineker lands a right hand. He goes to the body again. He lands another right hand. He delivers a kick to the body that hurts Gashimov. Lineker rushes in and lands a hard shot to the body that drops Gashimov. He finishes with a series of left hands until the referee stopped the fight.
