UFC bantamweight John “Prince” Albert on Thursday announced via Twitter that his next fight is slated to be against Scott Jorgensen at the UFC on Fox 5 fight card scheduled for Dec. 8 at Key Arena in Seattle.
“That’s right everyone I’m fighting super tough @Scottjorgensen in my home town of Seattle Wa gonna be one hell of a (sic) bar burner stay tuned,” Albert declared on the popular social media site.
“I feel so lucky getting the opportunity to fight such tough high ranked fighters,” he continued. “It’s exactly what I want and brings the best out of me.”
Albert (7-3) is in desperate need of a victory. Since losing to eventual TUF 14 bantamweight winner John Dodson on The Ultimate Fighter, Albert has gone 1-2 in the Octagon, losing the last two.
Jorgensen (13-6), a staple under the Zuffa umbrella dating back to WEC 32 in 2008, is also trying to get back on track. He bounced back from a loss to UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz by winning two consecutive fights, but has since lost back-to-back bouts to current interim champ Renan Barão and Eddie Wineland.
The two will serve as part of the supporting cast for a top-heavy UFC on Fox 5 fight card featuring UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson facing Nate Diaz, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Alexander Gustafsson, and BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald.
