Sources close to the fighters said the welterweights will make their Octagon debuts on the Jan. 25 fight card in Chicago. You can see who is favored in each of the fights on the 11-bout card by checking the Sportsbook odds.
Sullivan (14-3, 1 NC) hails from the Pelligrino fight camp, making his rounds in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships for his most recent fights. The fighter has picked up KO and TKO wins in four of his last five performances.
Rhodes (6-1) has spent his last three fights under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance banner, picking up promotion’s welterweight title in his last fight in October of 2013. Of Rhodes’ six wins, three have been finishes in the first round.
The Sullivan-Rhodes tilt takes the place of a fight between Pascal Krauss and Adam Khaliev, which was scratched from the Chicago card on Saturday. Krauss said health problems combined with Khaliev’s failure to get cleared for the fight ultimately prevented the bout from coming to fruition.
UFC on Fox 10 is scheduled to be headlined by a lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson.
