The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the performance-based fighter bonuses following UFC Fight Night 37 at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday. Alexander Gustafsson brought home two bonuses totaling $100,000, while Jimi Manuwa and Gunner Nelson each took home $50,000 in bonus money.
Fight of the Night honors went to the main event fighters Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa. Gustafsson ended Manuwa’s 14-fight winning streak in the second round. He moved in with a well-placed knee that wobbled Manuwa. The top 205-pound contender followed up with a series of uppercuts until Manuwa crumbled under the pressure.
Gustafsson was also awarded a Performance of the Night bonus for the technical knockout win.
Gunner Nelson received the other Performance of the Night award for his first-round submission of Omari Akhmedov that kicked off the main card. After gauging his range and timing, Nelson landed a straight left hand that hurt Akhmedov and set up a takedown. He quickly advanced to the mount position and softened up the Russian with punches and elbows. As Akhmedov worked to get back to his feet, Nelson locked on a guillotine choke forcing Akhmedov to tap out.
