UFC Fight Night 41 Attendance Tops 8,000

Munoz vs MousasiThe Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Germany on Saturday, although UFC Fight Night 41: Munoz vs. Mousasi was the promotion’s first in Berlin.

According to UFC Managing Director of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMA) Garry Cook, the O2 World was a “great arena” and it was a “great night” for the UFC.

“We had through the door, sitting in seats, over 8,000 people watching the fights,” said Cook.

While 8,000-plus in attendance isn’t anywhere near a record gate, it was enough for the UFC to want to do it all again in Berlin. Cook said that they are already in early talks to return to Berlin next May.

The UFC will run events in at least six EMA territories this year. Next year, besides returning to Germany, England, and several other locales, Cook said they will be in a total of at least nine EMA locations in 2015, and are shooting for 10, although negotiations are still ongoing.
