by MMAWeekly.com Staff Middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares headline UFC Fight Night 22 on Wednesday night in Austin, Texas. They, as well as the rest of the fight card, weighed in on Tuesday afternoon.

A lot has been made of the grappling games of both fighters, especially since Palhares is widely considered as one of the premier grapplers in mixed martial arts.

Marquardt, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu like Palhares, isn’t concerned. He says he has a healthy respect for the Brazilian’s ground game, but doesn’t fear him. Palhares, however, believes that if he can lure Marquardt to the mat, the fight is tailor made for him.

Marquardt and Palhares both weighed in at 186 pounds, making their main event tilt official.

“Ultimate Fighter Season 8” winner Efrain Escudero weighed in a full three pounds above the 156-pound limit for his lightweight bout with Charles Oliveira, who stepped on the scale at 154 pounds.

(UPDATE) Escudero and Oliveira agreed to a catchweight bout with Escudero giving up 20-percent of his show money to Oliveira.

Despite a distinct difference in height, Ross Pearson and Cole Miller, stood nose to nose after weighing in, promising fireworks to kick off the Spike TV telecast at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
