UFC Fight Night 128 Bout Canceled Because of Injury

A UFC Fight Night 128 preliminary bout between Magomed Bibulatov and Ulka Sasaki was canceled the day before the event because of injury.

While the official weigh-in was underway on Friday morning in Atlantic City, N.J., news broke that the flyweight bout had become a casualty when it was reported by MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani that Bibulatov had to withdraw because of a back injury.

Magomed BibulatovThe bout was slated to take part on the UFC Fight Night 128 preliminary portion of the fight card set to air on Fox Sports 1. UFC Fight Night 128 takes place on Saturday at Boardwalk Hall.

One of the event’s three Early Prelims bouts will move up to fill the slot, but it wasn’t clear which bout that would be at the time of publication.

Bibulatov had been hoping to bounce back from the first loss of his career against Sasaki. The Russian fighter lost to John Moraga at UFC 216 in October of last year, getting knocked out in the first round. He had won all fourteen of his previous professional fights, including his UFC debut against Jenel Lausa at UFC 210 earlier in the year.
