The gate and attendance figures for UFC 84 were released by Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer on Friday. The event featured lightweight champion B.J. Penn successfully defending his belt against former titleholder Sean Sherk.

In an email to MMAWeekly.com, Kizer stated that the overall paid attendance for UFC 84 was 13,448, alongside complimentary tickets of 1,325, for a total attendance of 14,773. The gate receipts totaled $3,732,000.

In addition to the actual live event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the Ultimate Fighting Championship also made the event available for closed circuit viewing.

The total paid attendance for the closed circuit feed was 1,175, with 120 complimentary tickets, for a total attendance of 1,295. The gate receipts for the closed circuit feed was $58,750.

The total fighter payroll as disclosed to the NSAC, which does not include pay-per-view bonuses or other such additional compensation, totaled $1,098,000.

Award bonuses of $75,000 each were handed out to Wilson Gouveia and Goran Reljic for “Fight of the Night,” Wanderlei Silva for “Knockout of the Night,” and Rousimar Palhares for “Submission of the Night.”
