UFC 247 Embedded: James Krause saves the day, steps in to no-notice fight

On Episode 6 of UFC 247 Embedded, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones enjoys sweet notes from his daughter, a small lunch and big guns. The two title fights are official — and intense — as flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko faces off against Katlyn Chookagian, and Jones squares up with Dominick Reyes at the ceremonial weigh-in. Middleweight James Krause steps up on very short notice to compete on Saturday.

Trevin Giles’s original opponent, Antonio Arroyo, was pulled from the fight because of medical complications after he had already made weight. Already in Houston to work as a cornerman, Krause immediately stepped up to save the fight. Normally a welterweight, Krause had little trouble making weight and clearing medicals.

UFC 247 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to Jon Jones’s light heavyweight title defense against Dominick Reyes on Saturday, February 8.
