UFC 177 Fighter Bonuses: Carlos Diego Ferreira and Ramsey Nijem Take Fight of the Night

12 Ramsey Nijem Diego Ferreira UFC 177 wThe Ultimate Fighting Championship released the performance-based fighter bonuses from UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto on Saturday night in Sacramento, Calif., with the post-fight award winners earning the usual $50,000 each.

Not surprisingly, bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw‘s finish of Joe Soto in the fifth round, an opponent that he had to shift gears towards in the last 24 hours after Renan Barao fell off the card, was good enough to earn him one of the two Performance of the Night honors.

Dillashaw dominated a game opponent, but it was a head kick in the fifth round that sent Soto reeling before the champ finished him off with a couple follow-up punches.

The other Performance of the Night bonus was awarded to Yancy Medeiros, who used a reverse guillotine choke midway through the second round to finish Damon Jackson.

The Fight of the Night honors went to Carlos Diego Ferreira and Ramsey Nijem, who fought a competitive bout before Ferreira landed the strikes that forced the referee to stop the fight just under two minutes into the second frame. Both men take home an additional $50,000 for earning the honor.

All the award winners were main-card fighters.
