The Ultimate Fighting Championship is back at home base this week with not one, but two events on back-to-back days at the same venue.
UFC 175: Weidman vs. Machida kicks things off at Mandalay Bay on Saturday when middleweight titleholder Chris Weidman puts his belt on the line against Lyoto Machida, while coaches Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will headline the next night at the The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale.
First, the UFC 175 fighters kicked things off with Friday’s weigh-ins to give their bouts the Nevada Athletic Commission official stamp of approval.
Weidman weighed in precisely at 185 pounds for his title defense. His opponent, Machda, came in a half pound under him at 185.5 pounds.
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey puts a top-heavy spin on UFC 175 by also putting her belt up against Alexis Davis. Each fighter weighed in at 135 pounds.
