15,504 spectators filled the Air Canada Centre and witnessed one of the best title fights in UFC history in the main event garnering a $1.9 million gate.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones edged out a game Alexander Gustafsson by unanimous decision to retain his title.  The fight was an instant classic and a frontrunner for Fight of the Year.

The numbers matched the figures from the last UFC event held at the Air Canada Centre in September 2012 with UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort.  UFC 165 marked the third time Jones has defended his belt in Toronto.

“Exactly what we did last time we were here,” said UFC president Dana White during the event’s post-fight press conference.

In the co-main event, UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao defended his belt for the second time by defeating Eddie Wineland by technical knockout in the second round.
