Keith Wisniewski vs. Chris Clements
Round 1: Clements lands a couple wild shots early, but Wisniewski clinches and drags Clements to the mat, landing in side control. Wisniewkski moves to mount, then around to Clements back briefly, then back around to half guard. Wisniewski drops some solid elbows to Clements’ head. The referee inexplicably stands the fight up, while Wisniewski is working from half guard. Wisniewski lands a couple good shots, but Clements battles back with some power shots and then lands a spinning back kick and Wisniewski goes down. Clements follows him, but nearly gets caught in a triangle choke. Clements backs off and forces Wisniewski to stand. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for Wisniewski
Round 2: They open the round, slugging away, Wisniewski getting the better early, but Clements lands a couple hard shots and Wisniewski takes him to the mat and immediately goes to work from half guard, grounding and pounding Clements. Clements regains his feet, but Wisniewski maintains the clinch and presses him into the fence. Clements slips away and just misses with a spinning backfist. Clements lands a right haymaker, but Wisniewski fires back with a front kick to the gut. Clements lands a hard stright right to the body, misses with another overhand right, but then lands another spinning back kick to the stomach. Wisniewski gets Clements to the mat, takes his back and sinks in a rear naked choke. Wisnieski lands a few punches from Clements’ back, but Clements drives some hard back elbows into Wisniewski’s face. Wisniewski slips around and takes his back again, but the horn sounds. Round 3: Wisniewski quickly shoots, eats a knee to the face, but doesn’t give up. Clements, however, regains his feet, while Wisniewski keeps the body lock on up against the fence. Clements finally works his way free and they return to the center of the Octagon. Clements rocks Wisniewski with a big right hand, sending him backwards, but Wisniewski counters with a couple right hands of his own as Clements moves in. But Clements lands another back kick to the body and then follows with right hands to the body and head. Wisniewski shoots back with another right hand of his own. Clements moves in again with a minute and a half left, but Wisniewski ties him up again. Clements separates and lands another right hand to the head and body, then drives home a knee to the body, taking much of the steam out of Wisniewski. Clements lands a right hand then puts Wisniewski on the mat via a knee to the body. Wisniewski wraps his legs around the legs of a standing Clements, trying to make it to the final horn… and he does.
