Round 1: They take the center of the Octagon. Each miss with jabs. Brown lands a combination. Brown comes over the top with a right hand. Cope moves in with a combination that misses and Brown clinches and presses Cope against the cage. Cope spins him. Cope lands an elbow. Brown gets the Thai clinch and lands a knee. They separate. Brown ducks under a punch and secures a double-leg takedown. Cope works his way back to his feet and Brown lands knees to his thigh tied up along the cage. Two minutes remaining and Cope presses Brown against the fence. Brown spins him and slips down for the takedown. Brown grabs a single-leg and sweeps the other leg, getting the takedown. Cope gets up but eats a knee in the process. Brown lands a right hook. Cope lands an inside leg kick. Brown lands his jab. Cope lands a strong outside leg kick. Brown lands a solid right hand. The round ends. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Brown.
Round 2: Brown glances a right hand off of Cope’s head. Cope throws a body kick that’s blocked. Brown lands his jab. Cope lands an outside leg kick but Brown catches it and lands a combination off the counter. Brown lands a right hand followed by a left that knocks Cope down. Brown follows him down with punches and referee Kim Winslow stops the fight. Cope was out of it.
