Michihiro Omigawa vs. Jason Young
Round 1: Lots of feeling out in the opening moments, although Young is showing his range and reach advantage early. Omigawa, constantly switching stances, tries but fails on a couple takedown attempts. They wind up clinched on the fence, where Omigawa trips Young to the mat, landing on top in half guard. Omigawa outwrestles Young on the mat for a time, but does little damage before they regain their feet, where Young quickly lands a head kick. Omigawa starts firing, trying to move in, but eats a knee for his efforts. Young lands a solid knee from the clinch and follows with some punches before taking Omigawa down. Round 2: Young’s right eye is showing some swelling from the first round. Omigawa opens round two with a takedown, landing in Young’s full guard. Omigawa moves to side control and attempts a Kimura, but Young defends well. Omigawa remains in side control until Young walks his feet up the cage to reverse and regain his feet. Young quickly lands an uppercut, but Omigawa moves in and scores another takedown, landing on top in half guard. Omigawa again transitions to side control, dominating round two. Round 3: Young comes out firing, but eats a left hand from Omigawa and goes briefly down to one knee. He pops right back up and starts firing again, landing a few grazing punches and a decent knee. Young is pressing, but Omigawa clinches and puts him on his back again, landing in Young’s full guard. Omigawa drops back for a hell hook, but Young fights his way out, and they’re back up to their feet. Omigawa lands a couple body shots, but Young answers with a kick to the leg. They move in close and Omigawa attempts an arm-in guillotine, putting Young on the mat before the Brit escapes the choke. He’s still on his back, however, Omigawa swarming on top of him. Young tries hard to regain his feet, but Omigawa outwrestles him, keeping him on the mat.
