Two title fights at UFC 136 you say?

The UFC has stacked the upcoming Oct 8 card in Houston as featherweight champion Jose Aldo will face Kenny Florian in the night’s co-main event.

UFC officials announced the new bout on Friday.

After conquering the best of the best at 145lbs in the WEC, Jose Aldo made his move to the UFC where he finally made his debut at UFC 129 in April.

Aldo ended up in a war of attrition with hometown favorite Mark Hominick, but came away with the UFC featherweight title still around his waist.

Facing Aldo in Houston will be former lightweight title challenger Kenny Florian, making his second appearance in the featherweight division.

Florian dropped down to 145lbs beginning with UFC 131 where he defeated Diego Nunes to earn the shot at Aldo.

The bout between Florian and Aldo will serve as the co-main event for the card, which features the headline bout between lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Gray Maynard.
