UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard 3 Official Weigh-in Results

UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is hoping to beat the fighter that he’s never beaten when he squares off with challenger Gray Maynard at UFC 136 on Saturday night in Houston. Maynard is hoping to moved beyond the draw of their last bout and take the gold belt from around Edgar’s waist and make it his own.

Edgar and Maynard, as well as the rest of the UFC 136 fight card cast, weighed in Friday afternoon at the Toyota Center as the time for the showdown nears.

Lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar tipped the scales 154.5 pounds.  “I’m ready to do this man.  Too long thinking about this kid.  I’m all about the anti-bullying movement.  Lets put him to the curb,” said the champion after weighing in.

Maynard weighed in at exactly 155 pounds.  “All the preparation is done.  Let’s have some fun,” said Maynard.  “I’m going to get that title.”

Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and challenger Kenny Florian both weighed in at 145 pounds.

“It’s going to be a great fight.  It’s a fight I’ve wanted for a long time.  This is the fight that brought me to 145 and I’ve trained too  hard and suffered too much not to go home with the title tomorrow night,” said Florian after stepping off the scales.

“Kenny is an excellent athlete, but I’m very well prepared,” stated Aldo.  “Whatever he presents, I’m going to be twice as good.”
