UFC 135 Pre-Fight: Matt Hughes Never Said He Didn’t Want to Fight Josh Koscheck

September 21, 2011

For his long storied UFC career, Hall of Famer Matt Hughes has faced many challenges along the way.

Hughes’ defended his welterweight title several times, and according to UFC President Dana White he even took a second fight with old rival Frank Trigg when the fight made little sense to him.

Still, Hughes has always been a company man and when the call comes in to fight, the Illinois native simply says who and when.

For his fight at UFC 135, Matt Hughes faces late replacement Josh Koscheck, who had stated in several interviews that he had asked for a fight with the welterweight legend several times, but never got a response.

Now Matt Hughes answer that question by stating he didn’t accept a fight with Koscheck previously, because it was never offered to him.
