The title fight main event for UFC 135 is now official with Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson both making weight.

The two fighters hit the scales and hit their marks and then stared down in front of UFC President Dana White. Jones, who in the past never looks at his opponent’s in the face when they stare down following a weigh in, looked away at first then met Jackson eye to eye.

They exchanged a few words and both cracked a smile before being separated.

“It’s about time he grew up and started acting like a real MMA fighter and quit throwing up fronts for these fans. Stare people down, that’s what we do. That’s what we do in the UFC,” Rampage said after Jones stared him down.

Rampage spoke to Jones while the two fighters were still engaged in their stare down and he shared that with commentator Joe Rogan after the weigh in ended.

“I had to tell Jones, I’m going to keep it real with him. I’m going to end his hype tomorrow,” Jackson stated.

Jon Jones was actually met with more than a few jeers from the Denver crowd, but he believes the time for jawing about the fight is over. It’s time to put the gloves on and defend his UFC light heavyweight title.

“I think I’ve done enough talking, it’s time for me to show what I’ve got now,” Jones said. “Let’s do it.”

All of the other fighters made weight without incident, but maybe there’s something in the Denver water, because more than a couple of fighters got chippy during weigh-ins.

Returning UFC fighter Junior Assuncao got right in the face of his opponent Eddie Yagin, causing a confrontation between the two fighters, so much so that Dana White stepped in and they never actually got to stare down one another. Also, former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor Nick Ring got nose to nose and bumped heads with Tim Boetsch, prompting ‘The Barbarian’ to respond with a few words of his own.
