Full Metal Dojo 10 is set for the Insomnia Nightclub in Bangkok and will feature two touted Iranian heavyweights. AKA Thailand teammates Amir Aliakbari and Masoud Ranjbar will both be in action against English opponents.
Aliakbari (2-0) is a former wrestling world champion who made his pro MMA debut on an FMD card last year. He faces a major step up in opposition against Jamie Sloane (5-1) who, somewhat ambitiously for a fighter of his size, has two bouts booked between now and the end of May.
Ranjbar (2-0) might not quite have Aliakbari’s wrestling credentials, but he is an amateur boxing champion with excellent takedowns. He takes on Steve Murphy (2-1), who is returning to the cage after an eight year absence.
Aliakbari and Ranjbar share the same management and are based longterm at Mike Swick’s gym in Phuket, where they have been training and sparring with seasoned UFC heavyweights like Soa Palelei and Mark Hunt.
This will be the promotion’s third card of the year and comes just a week after ONE Championship’s inaugural event in Bangkok, which features a number of FMD veterans including Pongsri Mitsatit and Kritsada Konsrichai.
