John Albert vs. Erik Perez
Round 1: Perez opens with a leg kick, while Albert immediately starts head hunting. They have a brief exchange of punches before Albert presses Perez to the cage, driving home a couple knees, but Perez gets the fight back to the center of the Octagon. They start trading wild punches to the head, but Albert goes to the body and then drops for a single-leg takedown. He gets Perez down briefly and takes Perez’s back. He can’t sink the choke, but then slides around to an armbar/triangle choke attempt. Perez escapes, but Albert goes back to the trianlge choke and locks it on tight. Perez is dropping hammerfists, but Albert keeps the choke locked on. Perez keeps hammering away, while Albert keeps the triangle on. Albert switches to an armbar, but Perez counters and locks on his own armbar, laying face down on the mat. Albert does not tap, but referee Kim Winslow calls a halt to the fight.
