Frankie Edgar, Edson Barboza and Tony Ferguson all pocketed bonus money on Friday night for their performances at “The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale” in Las Vegas.
Ferguson double-dipped, picking up one of the Performance of the Night awards, as well as the nod for Fight of the Night with Barboza. Edgar picked up the other Performance of the Night check. Each bonus was worth $50,000.
In the Fight of the Night, Ferguson and Barboza engaged in a thrilling war that left fans’ blood pumping for the duration of their fight. In the end, Ferguson locked on a choke to finish the night’s most entertaining fight and swept up two $50,000 checks.
Edgar silenced his critics who say he has no power when he completed a first-round finish of Chad Mendes in the evening’s main event. With a right-left combination, Mendes went falling to the ground and Edgar went to the bank with his bonus.
