The final episode of Season 13 of “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs. Team dos Santos” was nearly in line with the season average of 1.24 million viewers per episode. Week 10 drew a total of 1.2 million viewers for the two semifinal bouts.
Ramsey Nijem and Tony Ferguson won their bouts, launching them into Saturday’s TUF 13 Finale on Spike TV.
The TV ratings for TUF 13 were somewhat lackluster, bouncing between 1.0 million viewers at the low point up to 1.5 million viewers at the high end.
This season was moved an hour earlier in its timeslot, putting it up against some of the stiffest competition in the series’ history. The TUF 13 TV ratings were hit particularly hard by the NBA Playoffs and the season finale of American Idol. UFC president Dana White believes was the primary factor in the ratings dipping below Season 12’s average of 1.7 million viewers.
“You know what the problem is? We changed time; I don’t like the time change,” White stated during a conversation at UFC 129. “At nine o’clock, in that slot, you’re going up against a lot of powerful programming. At 10 o’clock, that was the perfect time for us.”
