On July 7th, Tito Ortiz steps back into the Octagon in an unusual fashion, at least for him. He is part of the supporting cast, not the main focus, of UFC 73: Stacked. The event features two championship fights, Anderson Silva defending his middleweight belt from Nathan Marquardt and Sean Sherk defending his lightweight title from Hermes Franca, as well as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s UFC debut against Heath Herring.
With less than a month to go until he steps in with Rashad Evans, Tito joins MMAWeekly radio to talk about his training for the fight, his current position and future in the UFC, his purchase of Oscar De La Hoya’s house at Big Bear in California, fighter pay, who he’d like to face in the future and more.
Also joining MMAWeekly Radio tonight is John Gunderson of the International Fight League’s Nevada Lions. Under the coaching tutelage of Ken Shamrock, Gunderson steps into the ring this Saturday night as the IFL makes its Las Vegas debut. The Lions are out of the running for the playoffs, but Gunderson will fight the Scorpions’ Gabe Casillas, whose team is also out of the playoffs, both for individual honors and team respect.
