Pat Healy lost his Titan FC lightweight championship at Friday’s weigh-ins, and then on Saturday night, he lost any chance of winning it back any time soon.
Healy was stripped of the belt prior to his Titan FC 35 main event bout with Rick Hawn, when he weighed three pounds over the 155-pound limit. The promotion stripped him of his title, with Hawn being the only one who could win it during Saturday night’s event.
Healy and Hawn battled it out for the duration, both men bloodied in the end, but it was Hawn that won a narrow split-decision victory and laid claim to the vacant lightweight strap.
Andre Harrison, part of the title fight triple header, defended his featherweight championship against Desmond Green, winning a unanimous decision.
In the flyweight class, Tim Elliott also retained his championship by submitting Felipe Efrain with a guillotine choke midway through the second round.
Steven Siler continued his post-UFC career resurrection, winning his fourth consecutive bout by submitting Austin Springer, ending Springer’s unbeaten streak.
