With Rashad Evans falling out of their scheduled bout for the second time in two weeks, Tim Kennedy once again took to Twitter calling out anyone who would listen to fight him at UFC 206.
Evans and Kennedy were initially slated to fight on Nov. 12 at UFC 205, but that bout fell apart early on during fight week when the New York commission refused to license Evans. Company officials tried to schedule them again for UFC 206 on Dec. 10 in Toronto, but the Ontario commission also denied Evans.
There were rumblings that the UFC wanted to then put Kelvin Gastelum in the bout with Kennedy at middleweight. Gastelum was supposed to fight at UFC 205 at welterweight, but was so far over weight he didn’t even step on the scale.
But just as chatter about Kennedy vs. Gastelum gathered steam, news broke that Gastelum had been suspended by the New York State Athletic Commission for six months for failing to appear at the weigh-in. So now, back to square one.
Like he did after the UFC 205 bout fell apart, Kennedy again started taking aim on Twitter, calling out anyone and everyone that would listen, including Brock Lesnar, who is currently suspended… and HUGE… and just got double-speared by Goldberg! Might want to re-think that one Tim.
Amongst the other fighters he chirped at were Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, and Patrick Cote, any of which would make for a good fight with Kennedy. How realistic most of the match-ups are, however, is another story, as Cote responded to Kennedy saying that he just had elbow surgery.
So we’ll just have to wait and see how the situation develops.
I am not fighting Rashad Evans at #UFC206. My opponent is TBD. I am still moving forward as if I am fighting. Longest fight camp in history pic.twitter.com/gybQjl6Cny

@SpiderAnderson I know it’s been a minute since you won a fight. I might be an easy match up. Bad wrestling, horrible striking. #ufc206 ?

@vitorbelfort #ufc206 needs another flight. I’ll even do a catchweight to compensate for your dad body? #postUSADA

@BrockLesnar #ufc206 needs you. I won’t beat you up too bad. You could even do some hunting in Canada after the fight.
