Strikeforce: Jardine vs. Rockhold Official Attendance and Gate Receipts

The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Wednesday released the official attendance and gate receipts for the first Strikeforce event of 2012… and the numbers aren’t exactly encouraging.

The total Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine attendance was 1,992. It took place at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Jan. 7 with Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold successfully defending his belt against UFC veteran Keith Jardine.

Of the 1,992 attendees, 927 paid for tickets, while 1,065 received complimentary tickets. There were 727 tickets left unsold.

Gate receipts for the event totaled $68,805.

Strikeforce paid out $566,000 in Rockhold vs. Jardine fighter salaries, as reported to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The event was the first under a new television contract with the premium cable network Showtime.

In comparison, the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale at The Pearl at The Palms in December drew 1,909 in total attendance, 1,348 of which were paid, for gate receipts totaling $452,700. The reported TUF 14 Finale fighter salaries totaled $708,000.
