Strikeforce Fighters Pass Drug Tests

All of the
fighters for the recent Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Thomson event in San Jose,
Calif. were tested for both drugs of abuse and performance enhancing substances
following their bouts. According to Armando Garcia, the executive director of
the California State Athletic Commission, all test results came back negative.

Thomson wrested the Strikeforce lightweight championship from friend and
sometimes training partner Gilbert Melendez in the main event. In addition to
winning the championship, Thomson has since entered the MMAWeekly.com
