Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley Full Weigh-In Results

Strikeforce held their weigh-ins for Diaz vs. Daley on Friday in San Diego, the first major Showtime event held under the new Zuffa ownership.

Two title bouts head Saturday night’s fight card at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Although there hasn’t been the pre-fight, trash talking fireworks that most would expect between Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz and challenger Paul Daley – two of the most explosive personalities in the sport – the two had a fairly intense staredown at the weigh-ins. Both fighters came in on weight for their title tilt; Diaz tipped the scale at 169.75 pound and Daley at 169.5.

In the other half of the championship co-main events, lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez and his counterpart Tatsuya Kawajiri, also both made weight, although Melendez needed a little assistance from the towel handlers.

The fight between Melendez and Kawajiri is a rematch of their fight from 2006, which the current Strikeforce titleholder won by decision.
