STATIC Episode 4: Putting Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz in a Room Together? Good Luck!

Media mogul Jay Z and legendary fighter Anderson Silva have come together to produce a new series for Jay Z’s Life+Times web channel. The series, entitled STATIC, delves deeper into some of the most hotly contested rivalries in mixed martial arts, giving fans a much more thorough understanding of the friction between the fighters.

The series premiere featured the rivalry between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. The second episode focused on the rivalry between Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Nick Diaz, and part three featured Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate.

In this, the fourth and final episode of STATIC, we get a deeper look into the rivalry between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, two guys that can barely be in a room together, let alone a cage.

The officials synopsis for episode four:

Dominick Cruz v. Urijah Faber
Before Dominick Cruz was a UFC champion, he had a WEC title shot in is his WEC debut against champion Urijah Faber on March 24, 2007. Angered his name wasn’t on the promotional poster, Cruz figured the best way to get his name on the poster was to sign it over Faber’s face. While Cruz insisted it wasn’t Faber he had the problem with, Faber still took offense and there has been tension between the two ever since. Faber would go on to win WEC 26 by a guillotine choke in the first round, however Cruz would avenge that loss July 2,2011 as he defended his title against Faber in a 5 round unanimous decision victory. Since the poster incident the two have publicly trades barbs, and even after two ferocious fights the animosity still builds with Faber remaining as Cruz’s only loss. Featuring original interviews with Dominick Cruz, Urijah Faber, Eric Del Fierro, Tommy Schurkamp, and Chael Sonnen.
