Cyrille “Snake” Diabate has suffered a broken ankle during training and will not be able to make his U.S. debut. The Cage Rage and Pride veteran was scheduled to take on defending IFO Light Heavyweight Champion Travis Wiuff on Dec. 28th.

“I broke my ankle training Monday evening. This is the first time I’ve had to pull out of a fight and it’s so frustrating; it drives me crazy,” explained Diabate. “I was doing some light sparring with takedown defense and one of my sparring partners did a takedown trapping one of my legs at the same time. It was completely a fluke accident. I was in perfect condition, my training was great and it’s one of those things that happen.”

Steele Cage Promotions are working on finding a replacement for Diabate. The French striker is expected to be in a cast for three weeks and will return to training shortly after.

“I hope I’ll soon get the chance to show the American fans my skills. I’ve had a lot of great support from the U.S. and all over the world. Please visit myspace.com/cyrillediabate or myspace.com/denripou and thanks a lot for your support. When I’m all healed up, I’ll try my best to give the fans the most exciting fights because that’s what it’s all about.”

Steele Cage Promotions, LLC and the International Fighting Organization, LLC presents “Fireworks in the Cage IV”.
