Newly crowned Shooto Pacific Rim Welterweight Champion Takashi Nakakura will take on Swedish veteran Jani Lax in a non-title match. Nakakura defeated 2005 Shooto Welterweight Rookie Champion Mizuto Hirota at the first ‘Back to Our Roots’ show to claim the vacant belt.

Shooto and K-1 Hero’s veteran Jani Lax has faced some tough competition in his career including fighters such as Tatsuya Kawajiri, Joachim Hansen and Akira Kikuchi. Lax hasn’t fought since November of 2006, when he defeated John Mahlow at Ironheart Crown 11.

Shooto’s 2005 Featherweight Rookie Champion, Takeya Mizugaki, looks to rebound from a two-fight skid when he faces the tough Masakazu Ueda. Since fighting Ryota Matsune to a draw back in July of last year, Mizugaki has dropped back to back matches to Kenji Osawa and Atsushi Yamamoto. Ueda is the 2006 Shooto Featherweight Rookie Champion and is coming off of an impressive submission victory over So Tazawa.

Featherweights Kyotaro Nakao and Keisuke Yamada will face off in Class B action.

Shooto “Back to Our Roots 4” – July 15th fight card so far:
