Shine Fights on Tuesday announced the addition of a lightweight bout between Luciano Azevedo and Zac George to its “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas” fight card on May 15 in Fayetteville, N.C.

The promotion also confirmed that Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett would replace an injured Junior Assuncao against Luiz Azeredo.

Azevedo (16-8) is the only fighter to hold a victory over current WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. He has fought the majority of his career in Brazil, but stepped out to fight in Pride in Japan, and in England.

“An MMA fight to me is just like an action movie without being edited,” said Azeredo recently. “I want to show everybody that MMA is not a street fight; it’s an art. My performances are never boring, so I think I have a lot to show the fans.”

George (19-3), a Team Quest product, is on a six-fight winning streak and looking forward to the challenge Azevedo presents.

“He’s probably the best fighter I’ve faced so far. I’ve fought a lot of guys with skills, but they lacked a well-known name. With Azevedo, he’s got both. He’s legit, and I’m excited to have such an awesome opportunity.”

UFC veteran Din Thomas and former world boxing champion Ricardo Mayorga headline “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas” on May 15. The bout will be Mayorga’s mixed martial arts debut.
