Heavyweights Sean McCorkle and Christian Morecraft are on a collision course to meet at UFC Fight Night 24 on March 26 in Seattle.
The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the match-up on Tuesday. MMAFighting.com initially reported the bout.
McCorkle (10-1) returns to the Octagon after suffering the first loss of his career at UFC 124 in Montreal. After nearly submitting Stefan Struve in the first round of their heavyweight match-up, McCorkle found himself in unfamiliar territory with his opponent unloading shots after a quick sweep from the bottom.
It was a tough loss for the Indiana native, but he’ll look to bounce back quickly with a fight in March.
Hoping to rebound from a loss of his own at the hands of Struve will be Christian Morecraft (6-1), who makes his second appearance in the UFC with the fight in March.
Morecraft also had early success against Struve in his only UFC bout, but the comeback kid from Holland put together another great reversal of fortunes, and blasted out his opponent in the second round of their fight back at UFC 117 in August.
UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle is set to be headlined by former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz taking on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the main event, with several other bouts rumored for the March fight card.
