In a big shocker, MMAWeekly’s Scott Petersen reports from Japan that Kazushi Sakuraba has left Pride for K-1’s Hero’s organization. Sakuraba’s music played as Saku entered the ring with Hero’s executive Akira Maeda.

Maeda did the talking in the presentation, as Saku didnt actually show his face or say when he would fight in a K-1/Hero’s ring, but Maeda said that Sakuraba would fight in August.

Apparently, Sakuraba has left the Takada Dojo, as Nobuhiko Takada was also Sakuraba’s manager. This, of course, is a big move by K-1 as they are Pride’s biggest competitor and rival in Japan. Sakuraba has a good relationship with Maeda that dates back to their pro wrestling days.
