Eight fighters, with hopes of qualifying for a spot on the November 19th ROTR card, entered the cage to do battle. In the end, the two favorites, Ross Ebanez and Sydney Silva won the rights to appear on “the big show.” Ebanez won both of his fights in convincing fashion getting Isamu Himura to tap-out due to strikes from the mount, then finishing Jason Dacquell with a barrage of strikes at the end of the first round. On the other side of the bracket, Sydney Silva won his opening round match via side-choke over Kaleo Padilla, then received a bye into the finals after his second round opponent could not continue due to injury.

In the first super fight, Mike Aina avenged an earlier loss to Kaleo Kwon. The two met earlier in the year in a 155 pound tournament with Kwon walking away victorious. This time around it would be Aina that would walk away with the unanimous decision. Both fighters demonstrated that they could stand and bang, but it was Aina that dominated the ground and pound when the fight hit the mat.

In the main event of the night undefeated Thales Leites went up against hometown favorite Ronald Jhun. Although Leites came into the fight with a 4-0 record, Jhun had the experience and the crowd on his side. Leites immediately took the fight to the ground where he felt his Jiu-Jitsu would give him an advantage. To his credit, Jhun was able to hold his own on the ground and bring the fight back up. Late in the second round Leites opened up a cut over Juhn’s right eye. Leites would later connect a high kick to the same cut and end the fight, as the doctor stepped in and halted the match.
