The Ultimate Fighter and UFC veteran Mike Nickels headlines Saturday night’s Ring of Fire 34 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colo., just outside of Denver.

The fighters weighed in Friday night at Dave & Buster’s. Despite a couple of fights with uncommon weight discrepancies, the 11-bout card will move forward. The main event between Nickels and James Funny is official with Nickels weighing in at 205.5 pounds and Funny at 205 even.

“This is a good fight for me style wise, and a good fight for me career wise,” Funny proclaimed recently.

“I am no one’s stepping stone,” said Nickels. “If Funny thinks he is going to get a launch in his career by beating me, he has another thing coming.”

A bout between UFC veteran Alvin “Kid” Robinson and Anthony Morrison was originally slated to headline Ring of Fire 34. The bout was cancelled earlier this week when Robinson learned that he had suffered a broken arm in training, forcing him out of the bout.

Tyler Toner – Ring of Fire 145-pound Young Guns Champion – will defend his title against Dee Jay Fuentes in one of the evening’s feature bouts. Up-and-coming heavyweights Brendan Schaub and Bojan Spalevic will contend for the Young Guns Heavyweight Championship.
