Rick Story was asking for Dong Hyun Kim, but instead he’s going to get Martin Kampmann as an opponent at UFC 139 in San Jose.

UFC officials announced the news about the new bout on Wednesday.

Following a six fight win streak, Rick Story (13-4) came up short during his fight at UFC on Versus 4 back in June after his original opponent Nate Marquardt was removed from the bout, and late replacement Charlie Brenneman stepped in to face him instead.

Brenneman’s wrestling and scrambles gave him the edge on the judges scorecards, and unfortunately for Story he faced his 2nd loss in the UFC.

Story will look to start a new winning streak when he meets a fellow welterweight contender who hopes to get back on the victory trail as well.

Martin Kampmann (17-5) has fallen prey to some tough judging decisions in his last two fights that resulted in two losses. A split decision loss to former welterweight title contender Jake Shields kicked things off, and then Kampmann lost a unanimous decision to Diego Sanchez in March in a highly controversial judges’ call.

Kampmann was set to return in June at the UFC on Versus 4 card, but an injury suffered in training pushed him off the show and now he returns in November to face Story.

The welterweights will square off at UFC 139 set for San Jose, in a show headlined by the UFC heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and top challenger Junior Dos Santos.
