A welterweight bout between Team Link fighter Ricardo Funch and “Ultimate Fighter” season 7 competitor Matt Riddle has been added to the undercard of the upcoming UFC 111 show in Newark, N.J.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Saturday by sources close to the fight that said bout agreements have been issued for the March contest.

Riddle (3-1) made a quick impact to get into the house for The Ultimate Fighter when he viciously knocked out Dan Simmler, breaking the fighter’s jaw in the process. After exiting the show, Riddle picked up three wins in a row before losing for the first time in his last fight to Nick Osipczak in England in November 2009.

His opponent, Ricardo Funch, also enjoyed an undefeated record for the better part of his career, starting out with seven wins in a row before making his UFC debut in December.

Funch (7-1) was matched up with former WEC welterweight Johny Hendricks, and while the Massachusetts based fighter definitely held his own, he dropped a unanimous three-round decision to the powerful wrestler.

The welterweight bout is the latest match-up announced for the star-studded card, which will feature two title bouts and several pivotal 170-pound fights as well.
